Filome

Terms of use

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal name of the business], [registered address], India ("we", "us") for the Filome app, its website and its cloud service. By using Filome you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.

Using Filome

You may use Filome on your own phones for yourself, your family and your business. You need to be 18 or over to create an account. The app is licensed to you, not sold; we keep all rights in the app, its name and its design.

Your documents

  • Your documents remain yours. We claim no rights over them.
  • You keep only documents you are entitled to keep, including those of family members who have agreed to it.
  • Filome is a tool to keep and share copies. It does not check whether a document is genuine and does not replace an original where the law or an office asks for one.
  • You decide what to share and with whom. Once a file is shared to another app, that app's terms apply to it.

Your account

An account is needed only for cloud backup and paid plans. Keep access to your e-mail address safe: anyone who can read your e-mail can sign in to your account. An account is used on one phone at a time.

Passphrase and recovery key

Backups are locked with your passphrase and recovery key, which we never receive. If you lose both, no one can open your backups, including us, and we cannot recover them. Keep your recovery key somewhere safe.

Plans and payments

  • Filome has a free plan and paid plans and add-ons, with the limits and features shown in the app.
  • Paid plans are bought through Google Play or the App Store and are charged by them, under their terms. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your Google Play or App Store account; cancelling stops the next renewal.
  • Refunds are handled under Google Play's or Apple's refund policies.
  • If your plan ends or you move to a smaller one, Filome asks you to make a backup and choose what to keep within the new plan's limits. Nothing is deleted without your choice; documents you untick go to Deleted Files for 30 days.
  • We may change plans and prices. A change of price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you in advance.

What you must not do

  • Use Filome to keep or share content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to hold.
  • Try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, or overload or disrupt the service.
  • Copy, change or resell the app, or take it apart, except as the law allows.

The service

We work to keep the cloud service available and your backups safe, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Keep a backup file of your own as well as a cloud backup. We may improve, change or stop features; if we stop the cloud service, we will give you at least 30 days to restore your backup to your phone.

Liability

Filome is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of documents caused by a lost phone, a lost passphrase and recovery key, or something outside our control. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law where you live that cannot be limited.

Ending

You can stop using Filome at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [Bengaluru, Karnataka] have jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us; most problems can be solved that way.
